January 5th - Happy New Year! We had a great
(although tiring) trip to Canada and thoroughly enjoyed the time with all the
family up there. Lots of snow and cold and when we got home it was the
same! Winter is here. Gas prices were not very nice up in Canada but
are $1.72 a gallon here which is down a bunch. Back to work today and of
course as busy as ever.
January 10th - Grandpa Ross is 65 and says he is sure glad he is
not just retiring now!

We bought a couple of old but fairly nice Arctic Cat snowmobiles from a
friend of Hollis's and got them both running with a little work. Of course
old sleds need work all the time so one of them is now having a fuel issue after
running great for a day! This is the nicer of the 2 and is a 1977 el-tigre
and goes pretty good! The other is a 1976 Pantera. Seem to run well
after a bit of work.

January 17th - Well, what a week! Vanessa turned 43 on Tuesday - Starlit
made a nice Triffle for Vanessa which we enjoyed after going to a movie.

Ross & Janice took her out for lunch and then that night around 1:00 Ross had
John take him down to the emergency room with chest pains. Turns out he
had a blood clot that had moved over to the heart and was creating some blockage
which caused a minor heart attack. He is supposed to be checked again
today and get out tomorrow. He is feeling much better! Then Hollis
turned 18 on Saturday! I must be getting old!

January 24th - Rain - rain - more rain - then snow. Well
now that was something! What little snow we had disappeared pretty
quickly! Then we had ice all over. Grandpa Lorentz and Grandma Lou
came down and arrived Saturday around 4:00 (they hadn't been here yet this year
you know) and Sunday we went up to John & Darcy's and spent the
afternoon/evening. Grandpa Ross is feeling a lot better.
January 31st - Strep throat really sucks! Jasper had it
when Grandpa Ross was in the hospital and now we all have it except Jasper and
Zion. I have not felt this rough in a long time. Grandpa Lorentz and
Grandma Lou came down for the week and we really enjoyed having them.
Jazzy thinks that Grandma Lou is her big quilt and loves to lay on her.
The good news is we were all feeling pretty good while they were here.
Hollis came down with this first on Thursday and missed 2 days of school.
I am taking sick leave right now myself.
