August 1st - More hot weather and rain! No hail at
least. We went back up to the Cross Ranch for a bluegrass concert on
Friday night. Camped over night and jammed until 1 in the morning.
Local group from Washburn Cottonwood
was the warmup band and the Special Consensus
played. They were both really good. We went up to Washburn on
Saturday and the kids had a nice horse back ride. Ross & Janice went
to South Dakota to visit.
August 8th - Highs have been in the 90's and it hit over 102 on
Saturday so we have been having good old North Dakota summer! Took Jazmyn
swimming at the Y and she loved it. She is quite the little
character. Loves music. We were practicing the other night and
played a song she had not heard in a while, one that Zion plays and she was
simply delighted to hear it! She showed it, swaying (her form of dancing)
and grinning so big! We went down and swam at the river yesterday just to
cool off.
August 15th - Well I am a year older, Vanessa and I have been
married 24 years and we sang/played at the Interpretive Center in Washburn on
Tuesday evening and then went to Minot for the NDPOA (North Dakota Police
Officers Association) annual convention to try to drum up some more interest in
our software so it was a busy week.

August 22nd - George came out for a family reunion so we enjoyed visiting with
him. Ross & Janice bought a really nice 2000 Wndstar and Hollis bought
there Olds from them. He needed a better car and sold his old one so that
all worked out well. We performed at a fund raiser at Buck Stop Junction
(just East of Bismarck where Nick & Holly got married in the old church) on
Sunday. Jasper and I are re-working the trailer we got to haul
equipment. Had some rotten wood on the roof so we are redoing it.
Never a dull moment it seems! We went to the zoo on Saturday with Ross
& Janice, George and Jenny.

August 29h - Had a party for Janice on Thursday to celebrate 10 years since she
got the liver transplant! Wow! Then we went to Fargo on Friday, I
had a seminar that afternoon for Cloverdale so we towed the camper down and
camped a the KOA. Went to the Redhawks baseball game that night, they were
playing Calgary and it was fan appreciation night and they won the game and had
a wonderful fireworks display afterwards. Georges sister and husband, Ron
& Mary Alice have a suite at the stadium so they hosted us and that was
super! Went to Barnesville MN for Potato Days on Saturday. That is
where our friends Gary & Kay Asche live so went and enjoyed the festivities.
