May 7th - Went on a long trip this past weekend up to Lac La Biche Alberta (830 miles from Washburn) for my sister Anita's graduation from Bible School!  3 years of study and hard to believe it!  We went on Friday and drove for 16 hours.  Had a good trip although for most of the day it was against a harsh (40mph) head wind so that was tiring.  Dave & family, Martha & clan, and Mike & crew all showed up also so it was great to see everyone and celebrate with Anita!  Oh yeah, the old folks (A.K.A gramma Lou and grampa Lorentz) were there too!  Winter is still trying to hang on, we got several inches of snow yesterday although it happened before we got home so did not affect our trip.  We did see a semi with a grain trailer tipped over and completely blocking the road about 10 miles north of the border.  There was plenty of help there already so we used the 4 wheel drive and drove down into the ditch and around and on our way.

May 16th - More cold weather!  Snow last night although it did not amount to anything.  We have had some moisture and lots of wind!  We did go to the lake Tuesday night and after the wind died down it was quite nice.  Things are greening up and looking more like spring.  We did some cleanup on mothers day - the kids walked the ditches while I drove pulling a trailer to put the junk in.  It is amazing how much stuff accumulates in the ditches over a year!

May 20th  - More cold weather and wind.  Not much moisture.  We celebrated Pentecost starting at sundown Saturday night!  We camped out on some friends land just outside of Bismarck.  Only our family and Ed & Bev actually camped out, the others came and then left around midnight. Hollis  actually stayed up all night with Bev and they were treated to a nice display of the Northern Lights.  Ed crashed around 2:00 and I had gone in to the camper a little after midnight.  Hollis did good until about 10:00 the next morning and suddenly he was zonked!  We have such an awesome loving Father!  Praise to Yah!

May 28th - Well the first weekend of camping season and the weather was actually nice!  We went out late on Saturday and stayed over until noon on Monday.  We could use some rain now that warmer weather is here.  Ross & Janice got back from their yearly checkup for Janice and all seems well.
